Encryption

The primary use of encryption is to protect digital data stored on networks, in data centres, on endpoints or in the cloud. Encryption can also protect the same data whilst it is on the move, both internally within the corporate systems and network, or externally as it leaves on endpoints, removable media or via the internet. Modern encryption algorithms play a vital role in the security assurance of IT systems and communications as they can provide enforceable confidentiality. Some typical uses of encryption are:

Endpoint encryption provides organisations with the option to deploy full-disk encryption and removable media encryption, CD’s, DVD’s USB’s etc. Encryption also plays a part in an organisations DLP programme, thereby creating an even stronger security solution.
